Misleading price tags, atrocious customer support center, but their prices cannot be beat. Perhaps I am wrong to expect a positive customer experience from Best Buy considering their price-match guarantee strategy. Nonetheless, below is a recap of my laughable email interaction with Best Buy Customer Support regarding (what I believed to be) a misleading price tag. I never did receive an answer to my fairly simple question. **Me: On Monday, 28DEC I visited store #8 in Burnsville searching for a Macbook Air. The price on the sign read $699 (price good through 2JAN). Noting the price was good through the 2nd, I chose to think about the purchase. I returned to the same store the night of the 2nd to buy the laptop and noted the price on the sign had increased to $749 (price good through 2JAN). I spoke to the GM (Bart) about the discrepancy and he explained the price is set by Apple and he could not sell me the laptop for $699. He also agreed the sign on 28DEC read per the above (@699). I understand the concept of contracted pricing, but I do not understand why $699 was advertised as "good through 2JAN" if the price was subject to change. I believe this is misleading and Best Buy should take a closer look at how they display the price of Apple devices. In the end, I did purchase the Macbook for $749 but was unsatisfied with the overall customer experience. Thank you for reviewing. **Reply from Best Buy Support: Im sorry for the confusion of the sudden price change of Macbook Air that has brought you . I know this is quiet frustrating. Let me assist you with that. After attempting to get a definitive answer from our supply and distribution team, I was informed all Best Buy prices are subject to change without prior notice due to the unpredictable changes in the availability of the item which has significant impact to supply and demand. Thus, we are not able to tell how long the current price will stay as is. **Me (new request with previous correspondence included): You did not answer my question. Why did the store price tag advertise "valid through 2JAN" if the price was subject to change before that date? **Reply from Best Buy Support: Thank you for visiting your local Best Buy store. We appreciate the opportunity to provide products and services that meet your needs. I understand you have concern with regard to the price of the item, Macbook Air that you purchase instore. Please be inform that there are items that will be on sale online that is not applicable instore. For items that is on sale or promotion is only applicable on the specific timeframe and will depend also for items that is on sale or promotion instore. Rest assure that this will be a one time incident and we still have a lot of sale that you may take advantage. For further shopping convenience, you can always purchase many items online and take advantage of great shipping offers.

I give three not two just because they have good prices, though their price match is limited they do not match all amazon prices just certain ones. I have had a love hate with the store for over twenty years now. Back in the day they refused my check for a dvd player when they were the rave and said I had too many checks written. I said they were all good and none have bounced so what are you talking about, I have a wife and three kids and we write checks for everything. So they refused my, one embarassing,, two annoying and three wtfuzz no bad checks written and I was refused. So we went to sears where they were more than happy to take my check. I boycotted Best Buy for twenty years except my wifes anniversary car stereo I bought and had installed by them, like I said cant beat their deals sometimes. Ive just recently decided to give them a second shot and I found the staff in the New Bursville Location, to be uncaring, very ignorant on their inventory and products themselves, and just plain unpleasant to deal with. They point instead of bringing you to products you cant find and need help finding, a finger point from a manager as to where the area is I could find the cable I needed, still couldnt find it with his great pointing system. I on another occasion was trying to find the cheapest best printer that had affordable ink afterward, and talk about clueless, spoke to at least too reps and they had no idea about anything to do with their printers. I asked questions is Brother the better deal for the long run since it has toner cartridge, answer I dont really know, whats your cheapest printer well these are on sale, my girlfriend said well these over here are cheaper, so just tried to sell me a fairly expensive printer that was on sale, when they had cheap ones at other section. I dont want to go on Id rather drink my morning coffee right now, but almost every experience I have with this company is a bad one, hope you have better luck, they do have good prices though and its brick and mortar so returns are convenient.

Bought a game that was on the table display with an Xbox console got the game home and installed in the Xbox only to find out it was the pc version. Went to return game with no luck because it was opened. False display advertising and its my fault. Everyone was real snobby and short. I have spent thousands at this store and they also said the purchase was not in my history under my phone number I gave them lol even with a receipt in my hand they acted like I stole the game from the store an was trying to return it !!!! Give me a break! They also couldnt test the game because they didnt have the download software required for pc operation they gave it to geek squad with the same results. The game was call of duty mw3 by the way. I just wanted to let everyone know look twice at what your buying. I feel like I got scammed for an honest mistake. I mean come on Xbox consoles all around sitting on a display table and then they put the pc version of the game on the same table. What a joke especially for guys like me who play once in a great while all the cases look the same to me! Also they said its a copyright policy Well why not secure the cd when its burnt so stores can accept returns on wrong items and crap that doesnt work ! With all the technology out there theses days its possible but it wont happen because they like to scam people in ways like this. Screw best buy Im done for good. Oh by the way I also bought a Nintendo ds and 2 wii games at a cost of close to 400.00 I think Im just going to return this after a second thought writing this review. SCREW THESE BIG CORPORATE CROOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just attempted to exchange a defective iPad 4 case at your Burnsville, MN store #0008 towards a much more expensive case I was going to purchase instead. Even though I had all of the original packaging (per your written return policy that I had a copy of) and I had a photo Id (per your written return policy that I had a copy of) the associate with the bizarre hair and face piercing (very professional) and the store general manager "Bart" (who began speaking down to me from the moment that he came over) refused to do the exchange saying it was their stores policy and said "there is nothing I will do for you". I read him the return policy printed at the register we were standing at and asked him if that was the policy. He answered "yes". So I said to him that according to the policy and what I had provided (the items required by the policy) that I would like to make the exchange - per the policy. He again said "there is nothing I will do for you" and gestured towards the door. I indicated that I would be contacting the corporate office. He said "go ahead" and then suggested I f myself. So, #1 can you PLEASE honor YOUR written return policy? #2 is the what I can expect whenever I shop Best Buy? And #3 I would like this addressed immediately.
