After reading some of the rather negative reviews concerning the Chelmsford Petsmart location I thought Id take a minute to share my own experience. I have two Great Pyrenees, Duffy and Kennedy. Known to be a stubborn, non compliant breed, their training needed to start early and with complete commitment. Both are now certified Therapy Dogs. This would not have been possible without the guidance and patience of their PetSmart trainer, Erin. With regard to grooming, both Brittany and Emily have faced the challenge of brushing, bathing and trimming the many nails of these woolly mammoths over the years and have done so to absolute perfection. Given that Kennedy volunteers at Boston Childrens Hospital and Duffy at MGH, maintaining their appearance and complying with the mandated standards for visiting patients is always a priority. I rely on our PetSmart groomers to keep them at their best and they do so with great care and consideration every time. Duffy had a TPLO repair last year and, despite his size, which is considerable, every time he needs to get up on the table he is assisted with gentleness and care. Our sweet Kennedy was recently diagnosed with irreversible, progressive kidney failure. Days after learning of her condition, I visited PetSmart to research new foods to accommodate her changing nutritional needs. Quite frankly, I was an emotional mess, but Tim, the PetSmart manager, could not have been more supportive or kind. He spoke with the on site Banfield Hospital to get more information and helped me research labels to find the best fit for her. So, while Im sorry that some may not have had a wonderful experience with our Chelmsford PetSmart, were very happy with their training, grooming and store personnel. There are so many others that deserve honorable mention but, unfortunately, I dont know their names. Im grateful to all who have served us so well ~ Mickey, Duffy and Kennedy Pescatore

My husband and I brought our two dogs to PetSmart to be boarded while we were on our Honeymoon. Everything seemed all fine and well. The check-in service was good, the staff was friendly, and the facility seemed clean (I had a quick tour). When they brought our dogs out to us after being there a week, they both smelled of urine and my one dog bed was wet with pee. I asked if they had been out to use the bathroom and the lady told me that they let them in the play room to relieve themselves if need be...So they dont actually let them OUT to pee (like I was lead to believe), they just bring them in a room to pee on the floor. And its not like its a private room, its all glass so people can walk by and see the dogs play and pee all over the floor. They are young dogs so they were un-house trained for a week. Then they tried to charge us an extra $50 by charging us full price for both dogs. Well they tell you out right and in writing that if you board both dogs in the same room then the second dog is discounted. While looking at the bill, I noticed both dogs were full price so I said "oh, you moved them to separate rooms?" the woman said "no" and I replied "well why was I charged full price for both dogs then?" she replied.."oh I dont know, Sorry".....that really annoyed me because how do you just not know? and then they said before we dropped them off that if we picked them up before 12 that they would not charge for "Day Camp" well we were there at 11:45 (good thing another worker noted that we were there before 12 before handing us over to this woman) so we bickered a bit and she "happily" reduced our bill saving us quite a bit of money....In the end I may buy a toy or dog bed from the store but I will never Board my pets there again.

We have been going to the PetSmart in Chelmsford since the day it opened. The folks at the Doggy Day care are amazing. Our pets (3 dogs) have always been treated well. Erin is a wonderful trainer. The grooming department is phenominal - Kerry some how always manages to get my psycho yorkie looking as handsome as can be (still dont know how she manages to do his nails!). I have read some of the mixed reviews. I can only speak from our experience. I will continue to go there - I am very selective on who I let care for my four legged family members. A big plus is Banfield being right there in the store. Dr. G was one of the kindest and most dedicated vets I have had the pleasure to meet. Unfortunately she left the practice - the staff at Banfield are also terrific.

Today I took one of my cats to have her nails trimmed and to have several tangles taking off her sides and on her belly. Although shes much calmernow than she was when I first got her from a shelter she still wont let me do this for her. The groomer was very quick and professional. She said she had to restrain her a little with a cone but all in all she wasnt the worst cat she has ever taken care of. The experience was very pleasant for me and not very costly. Thank you so much PetSmart I will return When my cat needs additional care.

The grooming dept. is terrible. I scheduled my dog last week and the grommer was "sick" so they cancelled.. Ok i understand, ppl get sick so I reschedule for the following week and guess what the grommer is "sick" again so they cancelled last minute. Nobody else could take over?? I was already on my way there and I get the call. I call back and the grommer who picked up, apologizes then laughs. Really? Is that the type of people you have working there. Ive been going there for years. I am taking my dog and money elsewhere.

Day Camp and Training are both fenominal. But we had a really bad experience with grooming. Not only did they cut my dogs nail so badly that it was still bleeding 4 hours later, they also didnt call me to tell me anything was wrong. And when I called to find out what was going on, they lied and said they havent gotten to my dog yet. I did not find out what happened until I came to pick him up and he was literally covered in blood. So, day care and training 5 stars each, the store is great, grooming - 1 star.

While Ive never had a bad experience with the store or the grooming, I cant stand the scheduling format for the grooming. Each appointment is blocked off in 3 hour blocks. I have 2 dogs that I like to have groomed on the same day. Im sorry but it doesnt take 3 hours to groom a pom or a sheltie let alone 6 hours for both. I shouldt need to book 3 months out just to have them both groomed on the same day.

I have brought my dog to multiple PetSmart... And every time something bad happens to my dog. Obviously there are mistreating them and because no ones looking they probably are being aggressive abusive and so on... After the last grooming that I brought my dog to this PetSmart my dog for the last week has been biting the hair off of his tail and off of his butt thanks Im never going here again

HORRIBLE customer service!! I was shopping in the store literally 10 minutes before closing and I went up to the register and 5 minutes before closing they had already logged off the registers!! No announcements or anything!! I asked where the closing announcement was and they said they usually dont make one!! Never coming here again!
