My parents used to buy pralines from Bayou Country in the French Quarter when I was a kid. They were the BEST pralines in the Quarter (way better than Aunt Sallys), and I was so bummed when they moved to Slidell when I lived in NO in 2004/2005. Just visited their new store yesterday though on vacation and it was worth the drive...the pralines taste the exact same as always! And they were very sweet and let me eats lots of samples. The peanut butter are my fave and my husband loves the rum ones.

I have shopped for odds and ends in the store often, but the last time I was there, I needed a few gifts for people. The store offers several types of pre-made gift baskets, but none were exactly right for my gift recipients. So the ladies there helped me put together gifts and wrapped them in really cute presentations. I will definitely keep them in mind for future gifts.

Seafood and sausage jambalaya was great! Sandwiches come panini style and are stacked with meat. General store is pretty much just chotchkies, but I spent some time browsing the sauces and they are all made in the southern US. Praline bar looks pretty great, but we were full from lunch and opted out. Cute spot, easy access from Interstate 12.

Love this place! You have to try the cajun mayonnaise and the pralines. We are also addicted to the rum sauce thats made daily. There are lots of other cajun food, decorative and novelty items to buy. Youll spend most of your time browsing to make a decision on which items to get.

Cute store with lots of great local food and craft souvenirs. Its a little back from the interstate, but easily accessible from all vehicles and they do have a kitchen and make a lot of the items they sell there fresh daily. Worth a trip on your way to/from New Orleans.

Did not eat here. The lady at the restaurant was complaining about roaches in her purse that she dumped on the floor. we walked out. Pictures were nothing more than photographs for $20. Everyone was friendly though...just a tourist trap.

Quirky, kitchy, adorable. Great selection of souvenirs and regional food items. Hot sauces galore!! As well as T-shirts, magnets, toys, posters, CDs, and whatever else you need as proof you visited Louisiana. Well worth the stop!

We went several years back and had a great experience. Disappointed that they are not open on Sundays. Usually, like stopping to relax and look around especially for there pralines. Oh well, will have to stop somewhere else.

This is a FANTASTIC tourist shop! The pralines are made fresh daily and the best Ive ever had. There are sauces, spices and souvenirs. Best of all the casher bags the sold items in a crawfish bag. Such an awesome touch!!

General store with nice variety of local specialties. Fresh pralines made daily however no real food to speak of. Cafe was small and closed when we visited.

Great place for décor or gifts with Louisiana flavor. Easy to loose hours without even realizing it. The place is clean and the sweets are delectable.
