Youve only wasted a few minutes looking up this bike shop. Quit now and youll still be okay. If you *want* to waste time, money, and energy, keep going. Every time I begin to think... "maybe theyve changed..." I make the mistake of calling this bike shop and asking for the particular item Im looking for. (damn! stupid me!) They will *always* tell you "Sure! weve got it!" - they never do. Theyve even tried to sell me an old used part that had been spray-painted, as a new part! (disbelieve this at your own peril). They will try to sell you absolutely anything... anything... if they dont have what you want. I wanted a very specific Blackburn frame pump for my road bike (the pump prefix was "fp" as in "frame pump")... I asked for it. Sure! We have it! Im unsure because they answered so quickly, but I take them at their word and head over there (25 minutes of Saturday, Wal-mart/Home Depot traffic). Do they have it? No, of course not. But now that Im in the store, they try to sell me a CO2 kit, or a "much smaller and lighter" mountain bike pump - I imagine that if Id wanted either of those things, I would have asked for them initially. This was only one occasion - it took me three times (I essentially trust people, I guess) of being directly lied to and misled before I even questioned whether this was store policy or not. This shop has had problems since its very first day many years ago. How theyve managed to stay open is a mystery to me - perhaps there are a great number of poor misguided fools out there that want to be lied to - perhaps it is the extremely limited competition on the Northshore. Heres the advice: dont even call them; drive over to New Orleans and buy your part (or really, anywhere else). Good luck.

Just another snooty overpriced Bike shop that is going the way of the Dinosaur, I purchase my bikes from BikesDirect, called for a price on assembly and tune, was greeted with apprehension and a snobby attitude. All of these companies Trek, Cannondale, Kona etc... All have their bikes made in the same factories in Taiwan or China.... The same as most online bikes, but the dealer gouges on price... Dont buy the BS about fitting, it takes them 10 seconds to size you... Bike stores look down at people when they buy online, BUT they forget to mention that they want you to pay double for the same Chinese Slave labor bikes, just with different name brands..

I am a novice biker in search of a quality bike. I visted this store during peak hours on saturday, it was very busy to say the least. As I viewed the vast selection of bikes I was repeatedly asked if I needed help. When I was ready to ask questions I was over whelmed by attention and information. They even let me take a bike for a ride. I took down info and pictures of the bikes to research on my own. I was not pressured to make the purchase or embarassed for my lack of knowledge. I have decided on a bike to purchase and I decided to buy one for my wife as well. Service like this is uncommon and worth reviewing. Thanks again!

Im not your average athlete. Ok, so Im not athletic at all, but Im trying. I have lost 69 lbs in the past year and still have about 100 to go. That said, I visited Bike Zone about 1 pm in the afternoon on a Wednesday. I was not greeted or even acknowledged by the staff. It wasnt as if they were extremely busy either. There were a couple other customers in the shop, but not many. They actually offered to help someone who had come in after me. I wont waste my time going back there even if I did fall in love with their selection of cruisers!

Got a bike and wanted to invest some money into it. I took it for a tune up leaving a basic open checkbook for them to do what they will. They guy took it to the back and quickly did some fixes. He came out and got it functioning but suggested that I try it out for a bit before putting money into it. Gave me some resale values and upgrade expectations. He could have went to town and had a field day on my bank account. Instead I left out of there with a small bill and a large wealth of knowledge. Good stuff

I wanted to sign up for an Ironman but I had no bike and knew nothing about bikes. I went in several times and they let me test ride a few bikes. Everyone in there is helpful and knowledgeable. I have asked them so many questions over my visits in that I feel like they must hate to see me hit the door. But every time I get a smile and they answer all my questions. I appreciate the customer service. That is hard to find these days.

Buying my bike was easy with the assistance given by staff. He made adjustments and suggestions while he patiently waited for me to test and retest drive the bike. Have brought bike in for free tune-up and received immediate service. Have returned to Bike Zone to buy attachments and a few changes which they did while I waited and without additional charges.

Went today to purchase tires and ask about setting up my girlfriends bike. The guy had a major attitude and walked away from me while I was talking to help another customer. They lost a customer and will now order online. I try to help local businesses but when you have attitudes and rude to customers then I goes elsewhere. Never ever go to this place!!!!!

Went here for this first time today to learn about different types of road bikes and left VERY informed! The owner is very helpful and knows his stuff. He really takes time to explain what you need and what bike is best for you. This is best place to purchase any type of bike or other equipment.

I needed a very simple fix on my sons bike. They took care of it in 5 minutes and are just super nice people. And it was the day after Mardi Gras, and they were open unlike another place I tried.
