I never have any issues whenever I come to this store. The employees are hardworking and very polite towards "ALL" customers. The store is very well maintained with the shelves stocked all the time. The restrooms are kept up and very clean. There is also a section to have your children be in a "SAFE" and "SECURE" location of the store while you shop that allows you to take care of business. The location is very convenient as well. Just take EXIT 68 on I-84. I would give this store "FIVE STARS!" * * * * * Good job! Matthew S. Shea
Easy access off the highway, this is a large store with a good selection and fresh foods. We were surprised that some of the more common items found at their local competitors were missing from the Big Y shelves. Their fresh food section and meats counter seemed above average - offering to go above and beyond to meet your needs. For example the meats counter always offers to make fresh any item that appears out of stock that day, or a fresh cut of meat if none of the displayed items meet your needs.
Good selection and decent prices. My only real complaint is that they pack the aisles with too much stuff (cardboard displays and such). It makes it really difficult to get down the aisles. Oh, and their stupid coin system. I already have a card to get discounts, now I need a silver coin for some discounts and a gold coin for bigger discounts? crazy. At least just load them on my "loyalty card" when I earn them instead of making me carry these physical coins.
Tolland Big Y is my favorite Big Y. Everyone always goes above and beyond to help the customers. Dave in bakery helped me out with a lovely breakfast platter on short notice. Everyone does an excellent job from Pat in produce, to Ed in dairy, to Jeff in grocery, and beyond. There are too many to list. Scott, you have an excellent crew working with you. You all help make my grocery shopping experience one that I enjoy. Thank you all for all you do!
My husband and I stumbled upon this Big Y by chance, we were on our way to a friends house and had to pass it on the way, so we stopped in and man oh man were we pleasantly surprised! I shop at many different grocery stores but this one is my favorite by far. The meat at the butcher is well above average for a big chain store, no Highland Park but for the dollar a better value! :)
CLEAN! -Tuesday Senior discount. -Seasonal offerings, outdoor plants, balloons, outdoor furniture and BBQ needs, seasonal crafted beers. -A full service flower shop. -Sustainable fish offerings. - Good deli meats and side salads. - Good hand crafted pizza, grinders to go. A bakery with fresh cakes off the rack or to order. Pies, cookies, seasonal desserts. order.
Very expensive. My family calls it "the food museum" because everything is displayed nicely, and costs a lot. We just had a batch of ground beef filled with bone fragments. If youre charging more than the competition, you should at least source decent products. I will try harder to avoid Big Y in the future- not a good deal.
They usually have what I am looking for. Tuesday is great if you are over 60 as you can get 7% off your order. The staff is courteous and helpful. They do a great job with ready made foods and we like their sushi. The soups are excellent. The pharmacy is open 7 days a week and everyone is helpful. Big Y is a good place to shop.
Great quality customer service. The best part about this Big Y is the FREE 2 HOURS OF CHILD CARE for ages 3 and up. The employees there go through background checks and are some of the nicest people around. Plus the fishermans dozen oysters are always a huge hit with my wife!
Why? Just why? Wholefoods prices for the same stuff you get at every other grocery store. They hassel you if you dont have a store card and you have to give them a kidney to get one. Keep your leprechaun gold to yourself, I know a rip-off when I see one.

This Big Y location is at the i-84 rt 195 track to uconn. The store is well stocked on a daily basis. Sale items are generally at the front of the store. The produce section is well run. Pizza and stuff for quick meals are on time.
Store is very clean and staff is very friendly and helpful. The only problems are they are overpriced, they do not have self checkouts, and they usually dont have enough registers open during peak hours.
The store is always spotless. They take great pride in their appearance, and it really gives an inviting feel. The prices are higher than other stores, but the quality has always been outstanding.
AWESOME GROCERY STORE!! THEY HAVE FRIKIN DAYCARE AND THERE ARE TVS ALL AROUND THE STORE SO YOU CAN MAKE SURE YOUR CHILDREN ARE SAFE!! WHAT?? I DONT EVEN HAVE KIDS BUT GGREEAAAT JOB BIG Y!!
Great grocery store! Good selection of produce, specialty cheeses and prepared foods. Excellent lunch specials with card and can eat in café with free Wifi! Childwatch for kids 3 and over!
Staff are very friendly and helpful, the store is well stocked great variety and CLEAN,thankyou.I especially like the additional 10% off for seniors on Tuesdays, what a great help.
One of the best grocery chains in the northeast. Definitely choose Big Y for produce and meats, and dont forget to stop by the deli counter for delicious subs!
Has everything I need in one stop, although a little pricey! Even has a Big Y Liquor next door! Always clean, neat, brightly lit with friendly, polite staff.
Nice atmosphere & staff, but avoid the Buffalo Chicken wrap (soggy tortilla, filled with overpowering sauce, flavorless chicken, and blue cheese paste
Elegant Edge Hair Salon and Day Spa
Close & friendly.. The customer service filled out my business card info for me.. They were friendly Happy & made my visit quick & easy..
One of my favorite places to go grocery shopping. Lots of great selection here, and the bakery is wonderful. It is a bit pricey though.
Customer service was outstanding. Our checkout experience was great and we are very pleased with the whole experience.
Well stocked, clean market. Beware, when school starts at Uconn, first time grocery shopping college kids everywhere.
Excellent. They had everything I needed plus items on sale that we always use so I picked up additional items.

love this bigy. my local store. you can find all sorts of things there, and their prepared food is great.
Super nice staff and great selection but more expensive than other groceries. Try the horseradish cheese!
Great store. I do most of my shopping here. Pizza and sushi are available also. Great floral department.
Easy in easy out...busy but always enough cashiers to handle the crowds. Nice clean store
Great place to go shopping, people are kind & ready to help you, prices are not to bad.
World class is a strong word but they have the best selection of produce in my area.
Kiddos love the free samples from every department. Little Y is such a help
Love this store! So much great stuff. Nice ambience for a grocery store!
Needed more people at the check out stands. Lines were very long
When I ate their fish I found a fingernail in the batter
Their fish & chips and fried clam strips are very good.
