The fabric there is all $2- a yard. The selection is huge. Cottons for quilting, flannels, fleece, upholstery etc. all $2- a yard. I needed to recover some kitchen chairs and picked up remnants of gorgeous upholstery fabric. Guess what - $2 a yard. Like the previous reviewer said, you never know what youll find there. I saw something I liked on a huge bolt, but passed on buying, and then went back the following week to buy some and it was completely gone. I described it to one of the clerks and was (politely) told - it was all sold! Some of the fabrics, only your great granny will love, but for the price its worth the hunt!!! The stuff moves fast, so check back often! There is something for everyone in there!!!

I was fortunate enough to find this store listed online just before making a 3 hour trip up to Rocky Hill. I was quite surprised to find a location right where I was heading! It was a FANTASTIC trip! The people working there couldnt have been nicer and more helpful. I was just looking for cottons but they have all kinds of fabric. You wont be disappointed! Only thing is that if you find something you like, you better buy it then because their inventory changes frequently. Of course I walked away with bags of fabric - but it really was a great trip. Oh how I wish I lived closer . . . Well, maybe its a good thing I dont live closer because Id be there every week!

They have a huge selection of various types of fabric for around $2 a yard, you wont get a better deal anywhere else, they frequently get new stuff in so it is always good to pop in if you are in the neighborhood. The prior reviewer complained they couldnt tell her if they had a specific fabric on the phone, if shed actually set foot in the store, shed know why. they dont use a computer or bar codes - some things are all $2, anything different is marked with a price sticker. They dont keep a computerized inventory so my guess is, if an employee didnt stock the shelf, they dont know whats there and, like I said, it changes constantly.

I am a young beginner trying to teach myself how to sew and I found that the staff is not very helpful when I have asked for advice on what types of fabrics to use for my projects. The other customers in the store are always very helpful though. I have had some rude encounters too but I assumed it was because I am 20+ years younger then the average customer and was not taken seriously. After reading the other comments here I see that is not the case and that is just how they operate. It will not stop me from going though because you cant beat the price and I work less then a mile down the road so it is very convenient.

The staff could care less who walks in their store. They know that they have good prices, so they lack the ability to even acknowledge the customers. You wont get so much as a hello, thank you, or good bye. They will not help you find anything. They talk amongst themselves and ignore you even if you are standing in front of them ready to pay. Dont ask them to cut your fabric because they will be very annoyed. They dont care to be remotely nice. Go here for good prices, but dont expect anything from the staff, or the management.

I love this store. I really dont understand any negative reviews. I have been shopping here for 20 years. All the employees are wonderful. I walk in happy, I walk out happy. Maybe other people (the haters) have unrealistic expectations. Youre on your own in this store. Enjoy it! Dont expect the employees to know which fabrics are from which designers. When I first started shopping here all fabrics were 1.99 a yard, and now they are 2.99. No where else that I know of sells fabric at this price on a regular basis.

I have been shopping here for years, and have only encountered one or two women that were pleasant. As others have reviewed, the staff could care less who walks into the store and never even say "Hello". Yes, the young girls talk amongst themselves while you wait for fabric to be cut. Then they act like you are bothering them! If you dare ask a question they are very condescending, but rarely even know the answer to a question about fabric or notions! It is NOT a pleasant shopping experience, but the prices are good.

I go there all the time. Always happy with my purchases, and have found the staff to be pleasant. Ive never had a bad experience with the staff, customer service is average. I guess if you are expecting to find expert sewing advice, you should take a sewing class. Its a discount fabric place people, you should know what you are looking for and not expect to be waited on hand and foot, or expect the staff to have all the answers--do your own research before you go.

The owner was helpful but the young girls that work for her are less than helpful and rather rude. The other BIG downside is they dont have public restrooms. This is a place that you can easily spend a few hours in and if you need a restroom they send you down the street to another business to use their restrooms that they have for their customers. Price cant be beat and most of the time Im pleased with the selection. But it is a hit or miss type of place.

I called to ask if they had a type of fabric and was treated terribly on the phone. She was really mad at me for asking, even though I was calm and nice. "Look, I know what youre talking about, but our fabrics here are anonymous. Im not going around like 500 fabrics to try to find what youre looking for." Nasty, nasty, nasty. I sure hope their selection and prices make up for their ignorance of their stock and terrible attitude.

I must say of all the fabric places Ive been to this one is my favorite. Some of the staff is not always helpful or friendly (namely the younger people-depending on the day) and they dont always have what I want. Overall, Ive had a good experience. The only thing is that they have a one yard minimum but I cant complain for the price @ $2.99 for all fabrics...there are a few that are less.

I have had nothing but the best experience at affordable fabrics. The staff is knowledgeable, super helpful, remembers you if you are a regular. You cannot best the price plus all the accessories. They remember the fabric in the store and comment on the clothing you wear when its one of the fabrics from the store. They even make bringing my 3yr old daughter in less stressful. Theyre great!

The two people who posted negative reviews must have had some attitude themselves when they were there. I go here at least once a month and have NEVER seen, heard or witnessed attitude from the staff - towards me or anyone else. In fact, they have always been nice, attentive and willing to help with any questions I might have. Theyre always ready to cut the length of fabric I need.
