Miss the old ownership. Coffee ok. Had a coupon from previous owner (3 months ago?). But under new management it was denied and said they arent honoring any specials from past management. Thats cool. Unfinished remodeling. Whatever. I miss the opened space they blocked off for a new conference room. Was the space that was for kids if you brought them. No kids books/puzzles/welcoming environment. Went there to conduct an interview for a new nanny and owner said I was sitting wrong and shouldnt have my feet curled to the side snuggled up on the couch. He told me they just got new couches. They are very nice couches! I agreed with him. Im sad he misunderstood WHY the previous owners had ratted couches. They were ratted because they were well loved. They had wears and tears on them for a reason people. (Anybody remember Fraisers dads chair? Ha!) This was a beloved coffee shop place to RELAX and CHILL. Oh well. Just sad that its not the welcoming environment it use to be. Wont be meeting other moms or bringing my littles (who are well behaved and can sit still!) here for a special treat. We would probably get into "trouble." There are other coffee shops in the area that are gracious hosts and want to welcome you in for a special treat. Will be giving them my business instead. My husband and I own our own business and understand to not micromanage our customers. There will be a learning curve for this new management.

Ordered a double espresso to-go and was told the owner doesnt allow espresso in to-to cups because it will get bitter as the espresso gets cold. My reply: "Isnt that at the discretion of the customer?" The server reluctantly poured it into to-go cup. Then went in another time and ordered the same and was told the owner will be happy to put it in a to-go cup but will up-charge me for a machiado since I add cream to my espresso. This is the ONLY place in town that wants to charge me for putting cream in my espresso! Sorry Pikes Perk - you just lost a good customer. Peak Place (just a couple blocks away) happily offers me cream when I order my double, and for the same price too. I wont be returning and will be warning my friends to do the same. Too many other options around that would be happy to have my business.

· They dont pay the artists that show - recent or new management...neither would pay.: not the old owner that sold and left or the new owner that took over ownership right before my show came down. 1st is gone, new one says not his responsibility even though he took over an existing business and it would be accounts payable for this month....funny thing is he claims he wants to fix the previous owners store reputation...nice way to begin. It was only 25.00 but he could have offered to make it right in trade or something. The girl that works there said shed pay because she enjoyed my work in there for the last month and a half....then didnt either. Thank goodness I only sold a few prints...cant believe that makes me happy -> thats just sad...

The baristas are always willing to assist you with finding the perfect drink for any mood youre in. They are also knowledgable enough in their craft to create almost any drink you ask for, even if it isnt mentioned on the menu. Drinks are always made with the same amazing quality and speed. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with comfortable seating aplenty. They also have a private meeting room to accommodate large groups looking for a quieter or more secluded area. The staff keeps up with maintaining not only behind the counter, but the entire store. There is always fresh ice water and cups out for the taking. The shop is always clean and any mess that may come about, such as a spilled drink or crumbs, is taken care of immediately.

Not real impressed. It had been a while since Ive been here. Had a 2 hour school delay so thought I would take my daughter and spend a little daddy/daughter time. Very slow service, out of teas and coffee, had to make more, then started to give me the wrong coffee until I corrected the so called barista. Very uncomfortable, run down pleather furniture and ants crawling on the floor. Was also disappointed that they didnt have any music playing, just didnt have the atmosphere that I was expecting. Not the experience I was hoping to give my daughter. Looks like its back to Starbucks. Sorry guys... I tried doing the "LOCAL" thing, but sometimes you just gotta go with the better product!!!!

Not impressed with the service. Each morning that I go in to the location, there is only 1 person working. Each day SEVERAL people go to the counter asking where their food/drink is because they waited too long. Today I watched 3 customers go to the counter to order and walked out because the 1 worker had an order for something that had to be cooked. Today I ordered a latte, he took my money and disappeared for 10 min before I went back there to ask how long it would be before he could make it. REALLY?? You take my money and cant get me a latte for 15 min? So I gave you $$ and had to leave w/o my drink so I wasnt late for work.

To all, This is Marc Johnson. I am the new owner of Pikes Perk Coffee and Tea House. I would like to encourage the past, present, and future patrons to come in. The place is long over due for an upgrade which I plan to accomplish. I would love for you all to come in, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. Spend time with friends. Surf the net. Or simply relax. I know that there are bad, sad, and simply disappointing reviews. I will give this place my all to improve upon its reputation. So please come in and watch the progress as it happens. Thank you for your time, your most precious commodity. maj

Honestly, my first impression of this place was cozy. They had tons of space and ample couches, but upon closer inspection they all look like theyve been pulled from the local goodwill. The couple times Ive come back, the place looks more run down. The decor looks like someone cleaned out an estate sale. The coffee was only ever OK, and the service mediocre at best. In the five times I have visited, I have only been greeted by someone once; the staff always seem to be in the backroom doing who knows what. This location is not to be confused with Peak Place Coffee up the road.

Pikes Perk has long been a favorite of our family. Their coffee is outstanding and it may be partially due to their half and half and skim milk. Its excellent. The milk is Wholesome Milk Products and its all natural, non-factory farm milk. I have to get it at home. The coffee beans they use are fresh and they grind every drink fresh. I have had their sandwhiches also and they are made one at a time, Artisan food. The high speed internet is faster than some coffee shops and its free unlike some national chains.

The first time I went here the barista wasnt very friendly, but at least the coffee was decent. So I decided to give it a second try. That experience was even worse. I went on a Friday night when they had a live performer. However, there was only ONE person working the coffee counter. Also, the coffee was terrible. Ill take Loco Bean any day of the week, even without a place to sit down. And if I want a sit down coffee house, Id rather go to Jives or Urban Steam.
