I ordered a couch and chair and was told that delivery would be 4-6 weeks, which would be acceptable for an open house I had scheduled in seven weeks. I felt comfortable with their assistance in picking out the style of couch and chair as well as the fabric choice. I was told they would call and arrange delivery as soon as the items arrived. Seven weeks later I called the store and had to leave a message inquiring where my couch and chair were. No response. I called again the following day and spoke with the husband who told me that he would check into it. Of course I had to do without my new purchases for the open house. Three days later I had heard nothing else from them. I called again and this time the wife told me she would call Broyhill to find out what had happened. It was obvious that no one had called Broyhill up to that point. Not trusting her I took it upon myself to call the factory. They wouldnt give me any information relative to their production which raised a red flag and I got the distinct impression that the items hadnt been completed. I made it very clear that I was not happy about the delay. I was told by the Broyhill rep that they would check into my order. The next day I got a message from the wife that my items would arrive in about two weeks and something about a delay because of the fabric which I found very suspicious. By the time I received the items it was right at ten weeks! Although both the couch and chair were as expected I will never do business with these people again nor would I recommend them to any friends. They are strictly "order takers" and make no attempt at follow up service once your check is cashed. They are NOT a Broyhill franchise but rather a dealer doing business under the Broyhill name. Frankly Im surprised that Broyhill hasnt taken action against them. As far as service, or the lack thereof, at the very least they should have alerted me that my items were going to be delayed. Then, after I made them aware of the problem they made no attempt to contact me until after I had contacted Broyhill direct. A hint of their business philosophy is the strong wording concerning your order being custom and there are no refunds for any reason whatsoever. Buyer beware!

I would NEVER do business with these people again. I purchased a buffet two weeks ago for $1200. They said it was in stock and would be delivered within two weeks, which it was. The color did not match my other white furniture, so I called Sylvia at Broyhill have them pick it up and return it. I expected to pay the delivery charge at the very most, but I was shocked and horrified to find out that the item was considered (in Sylvias eyes) to be a "special order" and non-refundable. No where on my receipt did it say it was a special order. Its not like I asked them to make a couch and I selected the material or anything. That would DEFINITELY take more than two weeks. AND Sylvia said the item was in stock at the time of ordering it, which means it is sitting in a warehouse somewhere waiting to be purchased. Sylvia (the owner) told me that she would only accept a 50% "re-stocking" fee in order to return it. I obviously am NOT going to pay $600 for nothing. I told her that my receipt did not in any way reflect the fact that this was a special order. I also told her that she never mentioned that this was a special order. She said, "That is how you interpret it." In fact, at the time I placed the order, Sylvia had said there were 7 of these "in-stock" buffets in the computer system, which means they are already built and available to be purchased. In my book, that is NOT a special order. I subsequently threatened to call the Broyhill corporate office to complain and she said that she does not own a franchise and it would do me no good. Funny how the sign above her store says BROYHILL FURNITURE and she SELLS Broyhill furniture but she is not a Broyhill franchise. Anyhow, I am left with no choice but take her to small claims court and see how far my $600 can go!

The family aspect and the honesty of the owners was very refreshing! The son had obviously been very up to tune with his knowledge of this trip, beds.... Sold me on the technical aspects and stats (I am a builder and very picky). After the frame etc was picked out, his Mom and business partner stepped in to help select fabrics and finishes. I would have never selected what she suggested but I listened and my wife (it was a present for her) LOVED IT! The Mrs. Broyhill then told me that she wasnt interested in just our master bed, but intended to help us furnish our entire home as we had kids and grew out of our "college" furniture. Since, we have purchased the air bed to go into the frame (which we LOVE), a few chairs, our coffee table, and are currently looking for dining room table..... Guess where we are headed!? We now have a son and a daughter and as we expand our family, I now understand what she was talking about! The son has at least one kid now about the same age as ours and I appreciate his unique insight of early fatherhood and his Moms institutional and long term understanding of what we "need" not just what I think we "want"!!! As I say, "your windows leak, call me... I need furniture, you show me what is the best value and will stand up over time!" They have not lead me wrong yet!

I have gone in this store three times now, and each time was not greeted or offered any help. First time the owner (older woman) was vacuuming, this was in early afternoon so not closing time. I wanted to ask about a table set and even walked around the store to see if shed help me. Finally once she shut the vacuum off I had to ask her the questions I wanted. Never offered me help. Second time i went in to look at a table. Again no one greeted me. I hunted down someone and asked but got an unenthusiastic response. Table turned out to be very expensive (considering it is Broyhill) so I went to Bassett instead. Ended up getting a beautiful table for less than Broyhill and got great customer service. Today I went in to inquire about a chair. Sales lady was helping another woman but would not even greet me or say "I will be with you shortly" or anything. There was a man sitting behind the computer at the front who never looked up even though I was standing there. Finally again I had to ask for help. Guy did help me but honestly I am now so turned off by the attitude of the sales people here that I will shop elsewhere. And for Broyhill (which historically was considered more budget furniture) the prices are high.

We were ready to purchase a complete living room. We started with Broyhill and found many items we ready like right off. We then went to other high end stores in Denver and were hounded as soon as we walked in the door, showing us items we had no interest in and tried to pressure us that certain items were on sale and the sale ended today, you better buy it! The Thompson family never hounded us, instead they let us look and take our time. After all the other visits, we went back to Broyhill. He purchased a rug, Loveseat, two chairs and a recliner. Lael was so helpful to us to let us know our options. He also made very suggestions in colors and fabrics. We knew what we wanted and Lael picked up on that right away. There was never any pressure and always felt at ease with working with all of the family. We were told 6 to 8 weeks, but got everything almost a week early. We cant express how happy we are with the look and the quality of a USA made product! Everyone that comes to the house is impressed with the furniture and wants to know where we got it. We will forever recommend Broyhill of Denver.
