Hello, I am the Store Manager for the Glendale Deseret Industries. I would like to thank all of our wonderful customers who have made this new store a great success. We are meeting and exceeding our goals everyday. I have almost 50 years retail experience. I have done everything from sweep the floors, to senior management, to own my own chain of stores. You will not find a cleaner, better looking, better smelling, friendlier thrift store with the best prices and quality. Our associates are phenomenal. Every day I am greeted by customers telling us how great their experience was, and how they are telling all their friends and neighbors about the store. But dont take it from me. I work here. I promise it will be your best Thrift Store experience. If not, just ask for Bill and we will treat you right. Unfortunately, one or two former associates have made it a point to post negative reviews on this site. Most of them are under assumed or fake names. Deseret Industries purpose is to help place people in permanent jobs. The proceeds from our sales go to promote this training program and our Humanitarian efforts in this country and around the world. I am confident if you are to ask any of our current 77 associates they will respond positively as to their experience here. We love our customers and I love my job! Look forward to seeing you.

This is a great store, very clean and organized. I got a lot of clothes that are mostly never worn and name brand (Loft, H&M, Gap, etc..) Staff are friendly and the people who work here are being trained to gain skills they can then use once they are done with the program. I am also very familiar with what they do because I know several many who have benefited from their skills training program. While they are offered employment although it is at a minimum wage and temporary, they can also be enrolled in outside skills training to get certifications and gain better employment. The negative reviews Ive read on here are most likely from those people who are suffering my "sense of entitlement syndrome"; people who think they "deserve" everything without having to work hard for it.

Wow Bill you have to be the rudest, selfish person I met. You could not drop an item I wanted by $10.00 bucks. I ended up coming back buying another item. And when I pull in back the item I wanted two days before was in a back garbage can. I asked a worker on crunches if Bill was in. He said Bill is never here. While I had bill paged. " Not to be found" So next time when a customer only has so much money. Think about it Mr 50 years experience. You lost a sale because you wanted more money. Now that $70.00 sale just went to the dump. So Bill I think you need to check your review. Are you really the right person for the job. " We donate to you so you can have jobs. Im a savers girl anyway.

After K-Mart left the area, I noticed the Deseret Industries store being put up next to Living Spaces. I had no idea what kind of store it was. Since it sits back off the road, it is hard to see from Bell Road. Two signs along Bell are viewable if heading east or west. They say: "Deseret Industries," but I do not see Thrift Store with the name. It was only last week when a friend took me to the store that I found out it was a thrift store. More advertising needs to be added to the signs on Bell Road. I love the store. It is clean, well stocked, and I will be back. I think, though, they would get more business if they fixed those signs.

My family had a good experience here. Then I happen to read down your reviews. As a business owner Im saddened. It seems to me that your employees are trying to tell you that your programs are not working for them. You may have had success with employees. The one review that really got me was by devin. If you do indeed have dishonesty by your managers then everything your store stands for is false. This left a bad taste in my mouth. Devin Im sorry you had to experience this if somehow I could get your info. I would be willing to interview you. We are a small honest compay. I would be willing to talk about a job offer.

When I walked in it smelled very clean! I love the prices, 3$ for a pair of toddler jeans, 4$ for a jacket, and in good condition! One thing I did not like is the clothing was not categorized by sizes. I had a hard time going through clothes to find myself a pair of jeans in my size. They were all mixed up. But overall, its a great thrift store. Also, I want to add that my cashier was friendly upon checking out but towards the end had an attitude. I asked her a question and she completely ignored me.

While the store itself is nice and you find good deals the customers are scary. I picked out two items and some older ladies came to my cart and took them out! I told them they were mine and the lady said they were looking at them first but forgot to grab them(???). I told the manager who talked to them but nothing else was done, not even giving me back the items they took from my cart, again I dont blame Desert industries for their costumers but I dont feel safe going back there.

First time shopping here, and Ill probably never go to another thrift store ever again! Loved it! The place is clean and set up in a way that made me feel like I was shopping in a nice store instead of a thrift store. The employees were very kind to me. Everything was REALLY affordable, less than half the price of the goodwill I usually shop at. I found almost everything I needed and only spent 6 dollars. Clothing was affordable too, so Ill be back to replenish my wardrobe.

Disgraceful having that GM as a representative of the Latter Day Saints run operation. No wonder so many people have wrote about the rude staff, Id prob end up rude as well if I worked for him. This company that is supposed to be about being kind and charitable is anything but as long as he works there. Advice to corporate: assess the kindness of your management team and ask yourself, is this how we want to represent ourselves and our church?

My experience was fantastic. I bought a very large, comfortable and clean chair for $15. It was a great deal! The cashier was smiling and friendly. The two guys that helped me load it on my truck had great attitudes and were really helpful. Im not a Mormon, but I know the store helps their members who are in need of work and I like that idea. Ill continue shop at this store.
